Week 1: Maintain Don’t Gain

Nov 27, 2022

Week 1 (Week of Nov. 27th – Dec 3rd)

Thanksgiving is over. All the leftovers are either gone or mostly gone. After taking a few days off to spend with food, friends, and family, it is time to get up and moving! Sometimes the hardest part, is getting out of the house. This time of year is typically the “cold” time of the year. With those evening and morning temperatures dipping below what is considered normal in San Diego, it is very easy to turn on the heater, grab your favorite blanket, and relax.

That is not going to help you burn off all those calories you consumed over thanksgiving. Sometimes you just have to get out of your house and walk! A short 5 or 10 minute walk is all you need to get started.  San Diego has plenty of places to walk! There are plenty of local parks you can visit, such as Lake Murray, Chollas Lake, Mission Bay, San Diego Bay, and many others. There are hiking trails at Cowles Mountain and Torrey Pines State Beach. San Diego is filled with beautiful places where you can take a stroll.

Whether it is at a park, or just going up and down your street, walking is a great way to get your body moving and out of the thanksgiving exercise slump.
