Located on 12 acres, the 132,000 square-foot Salvation Army Kroc Center is the only community center of its kind in San Diego. It's a place where people young and old have opportunities to learn and grow, to build dreams and friendships, and to find hope in a safe, warm and welcoming environment. From first-time swimmers to experienced athletes, The Salvation Army Kroc Center has something for you and your family.
With over six different venues and classes focusing on health and wellness, the arts, science and education, youth leadership, ministry, and so much more, The Kroc Center has something for everyone.
The fully-equipped Joan B. Kroc Theatre seats 540 and houses Broadway-quality shows and our own Kroc Junior Theatre Program. It features a 2,732 square foot stage, orchestra pit, fly space, and support facilities including dressing rooms, adjacent meeting spaces and more. The Joan B. Kroc Theatre has been utilized for thousands of events ranging from seminars and recitals to Broadway shows and fundraisers.

An exclusive 8,000 square foot party venue available for rental; includes a bounce house, obstacle course, an indoor zipline, and other creative play items. Tables and chairs are provided for all rentals.

Water exercise, therapy, lessons and aquatics sports programs are available in three distinctive pools.
The Kroc Center Ice Arena is the only ice arena centrally located in the heart of San Diego. Our rink is open year round and NHL regulation size. We offer public ice skating, learn to skate classes, learn to play hockey classes, drop-in hockey, youth in-house hockey, and adult hockey leagues. It is also available for rental and as a party venue.
Our dedicated fitness area includes weight and cardiovascular exercise equipment, a group exercise room, cycle studio, and Playcare for parents using the facilities.
The 55,000 square-foot field is used year-round by Kroc Center Youth Sports Leagues, Camp Kroc, and other rental groups.
The Community Room offers space for education and enrichment classes. The first-floor, 1,333 square foot room can seat 50 guests banquet-style, 80 guests theater-style, or 60 guests classroom-style.
Thanks to the work of Foresters, The Salvation Army Kroc Center and KaBOOM!, children and their families have a 2,730 square-foot playground to call home that includes features such as swings, a play cabana, dual slides, and more!
Our 30’ Outdoor Climbing Tower includes six fun routes for climbers of all ages (must be at least 40lbs). Whether you are 7 or 70, you’re sure to enjoy this great activity. Our Auto Belay systems allow you to work on your endurance and improve your skills without the need of a partner.
RJ’s Preschool offers innovative curriculum models generously provided by The Ellen Browning Scripps Foundation, that help children learn to read and write including the Handwriting Without Tears writing program and Zoo Phonics.
The Family Resource Center (FRC) provides emergency assistance, services and referrals for families and individuals in need in the community. Social workers are available to meet with clients and provide services including: emergency food assistance, case management, referrals, assessments, and Scholarships for programs and memberships.
Worship with us in the Rolando Room on Sundays at 10AM. The Salvation Army continues to reach out through service ministry after more than 150 years. The Salvation Army Kroc Center blends modern and traditional worship with practical messages, good music and exciting youth programs. Our service includes friendly people of all ages and backgrounds. We come together to worship, celebrate community, and strengthen connections. Bring your whole family. We’ll be honored to have you just the way you are, no need to dress up. We have something for everyone!
