Competition Pool Update

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we navigate getting the Competition Pool reopened. We understand and apologize for the frustration this has caused. After discovering the malfunction on the 22nd, our facilities team immediately began troubleshooting. The parts needed to repair the motor in years past have taken a couple of weeks to be received. As you’re likely aware, supply chain efficiency has been affected in all industries since the pandemic; the current estimated timeline on receiving is upwards of 3-4 months. This was unacceptable in our minds, and we began to troubleshoot an alternative option to get the pool back online as soon as safely possible.
We will be renting the necessary equipment as we wait for permanent parts and are cautiously optimistic that we can reopen the Comp Pool early next week. We will update via website (https://sd.kroccenter.org/kroc-san-diego/hours) and text alert as soon as we have more definitive information to share. We acknowledge that that this is not a hard date, but pray you understand there are many variables involved: in addition to ensuring that the parts are all connected, and the pool water is balanced and warm, we are also at the mercy of typical delays in delivery such as weather.
