Kroc-HMI Ice Hockey Camp

Ages 10–14 | Summer Week 9 (July 27–31, 2026)

Thank you for placing your trust in us to care for your camper(s)! Rest assured, we will do our very best to provide a safe, fun, and positive environment where your camper(s) can grow and thrive both as a person and as a hockey player.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures

  • Location: All camper drop-off and pick-up takes place directly at the Ice Arena.
  • Earliest Drop-Off: 7:30 AM (Breakfast is served 8:30 AM – 8:45 AM).
  • Check-In Requirement: All campers must be checked in by an adult. Please do not drop campers off at the curb or allow them to enter the arena on their own.
  • Check-Out Requirement: Campers must be checked out by an adult presenting a valid government-issued Photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport). Campers will not be released simply because a parent is waiting in the parking lot.
  • Authorized Adults: Only adults listed on the registration form may sign campers out. Only the enrolling parent may make changes to this list in person.
  • Self Sign-Out: Campers age 14+ may sign themselves in/out ONLY if prior written authorization is completed on file.
Notice – Pick-Up Time & Late Fees: Extended Care is no longer offered. All campers must be picked up no later than 5:00 PM each day. A late fee of $1.00 per minute per child applies after 5:00 PM. If a camper is not picked up by 6:00 PM and parents cannot be reached, Child Protective Services will be notified.

Equipment & Gear Requirements

What to Bring

  • Full Hockey Equipment: Helmet with cage, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, pants, shin guards, skates.
  • Sticks (2 Total): One on-ice hockey stick AND one dryland/street hockey stick.
  • Water Bottle: One clearly labeled hockey water bottle.
  • Attire: Closed-toe shoes and athletic socks daily for off-ice training. Sweater/sweatpants for cold rink conditions.
  • Tuesday & Thursday Extra Clothes: Campers have two on-ice sessions on these days—pack an extra change of clothes or extra socks for the second skate!
  • Camp Jersey: Provided on site! No need to pack a jersey.

What NOT to Bring

  • Cell Phones & Electronics: Cell phones, tablets, or electronic games are not permitted to ensure active social interaction. Confiscated items will be returned at end-of-day sign-out.
  • Valuables & Toys: Personal toys, trading cards, jewelry, or excessive cash.
  • Vending Machines: Vending machines are strictly off-limits to campers.
  • Weapons / Toys: Real or pretend weapons of any kind are strictly forbidden.

Friday Special Events

Friday Final Game (11:00 AM)

We wrap up the week with our annual Friday Final Game! Parents, family members, and friends are all invited to attend and cheer on the campers. Game time starts at 11:00 AM in the Ice Arena.

Friday Pool Time & Carnival

Campers will have pool time on Friday from 1:15–2:00 PM followed by our All-Camp Carnival on the Recreation Field! Please pack a swimsuit, sandals, and towel. If you prefer your camper NOT participate in pool time, please notify management in advance.

Meals & Hydration (Sandi Coast Cafe)

Breakfast and hot lunch are provided daily free of charge, prepared on premises meeting 1/3 USDA nutrition requirements (includes whole grains, fruit, and optional 1% or fat-free milk). High-energy athletes are strongly encouraged to pack additional snacks and sports drinks.

Medical Protocols & Medication Form

If your child requires medication during camp hours (prescription or over-the-counter), a Medication Authorization Form must be submitted. All medications must be provided in their original prescription container clearly labeled with the child's name inside a plastic bag.

  • Storage: Centrally stored in locked containers in the Camp Office or carried in counselor med-bags.
  • Self-Carry Permission: Campers may only carry and self-administer emergency medications (such as EpiPens or Asthma Inhalers) if the "Permission for Camper to Carry & Administer" section is signed by both parent and camper.
  • Illness/Injuries: Minor injuries receive basic First Aid/ice. Parents will be contacted immediately for severe illness/injury. In emergencies, 911 EMS transport will be activated.

Camp Rules & Behavior Expectations

Our camp operates under ACA Accreditation standards with minimum staff-to-camper ratios of 1:10 for ages 9–14 (minimum 2 staff present at all times). All counselors are CPR/First Aid certified with 40+ hours of training in safety, abuse prevention (Praesidium Accredited), and positive discipline.

The Kroc Camp Code (13 Core Rules)

  1. Act in accordance with Kroc Values: Safety, Integrity, Quality, Courtesy, Fun.
  2. ALWAYS stay with your camp group.
  3. Keep your wristband on AT ALL TIMES.
  4. You need a counselor and 2 buddies to go anywhere away from the group.
  5. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  6. Leave all toys, electronics, and money at home.
  7. Use positive and appropriate language (no bad words).
  8. Participate in camp activities for at least 15 minutes.
  9. Respect the Kroc Center & always clean up after yourself.
  10. NO use of vending machines.
  11. Any form of bullying will not be tolerated and may result in suspension.
  12. Listen to all counselors and junior leaders.
  13. HAVE FUN!
