The KJT Audition Process
We're delighted to learn of your interest in Kroc Junior Theatre for your child! It's an exciting opportunity for young performers.
Here's how the audition process works:
Once you enroll, we'll reach out to schedule a music audition. This will be a brief 10-minute session where your child can introduce themselves to the Director, Music Director, and Stage Manager. They'll have the chance to sing a song of their choice, accompanied by music from a phone, CD player, or acapella. Don't worry, this takes place in a separate room, away from the rest of the cast.
The following day (Thursday), they'll return from 5-7 PM to learn a choreographed dance with the rest of the cast. It's a great opportunity for them to meet other actors and pick up some dance moves for the show. This session also helps the Choreographer spot actors with strong dance skills. It's all about having fun and getting to know each other.
On Saturday, all actors will participate in acting, singing, and dancing exercises together and in small groups from 10 AM to 12 PM. After this, the production team will determine the casting. Parents will receive information about their children's roles by the following Tuesday. Rehearsals will kick off in earnest on Wednesday, March 13th.
