Free Education Classes

The Kroc Center collaborates with local organizations to provide FREE educational classes. Community Education courses are self-supporting courses for adults 18 years of age and older. These classes provide a diverse, personal, and professional enrichment to the San Diego Community. These educational classes and support groups are meant to help you learn, grow and move forward as a person. It's important to register in advance to make sure that you reserve your spot. Classes fill quickly!

Below are a list of the education classes we currently offer.

AARP Tax Assistance

Each year, the Kroc Center partners with AARP to offer free tax assistance for the community. From February to April, AARP volunteers provide their expertise on a walk-in basis, ensuring you get the help you need without the need for an appointment. The schedule varies based on volunteer availability and is updated each season to best serve you. For any tax-related questions, you can call (619) 269-1543, though please note that this line is only checked periodically outside of the February-April tax season. Take advantage of this valuable service and let AARP's dedicated volunteers make tax season a little less stressful.

CPR Training Opportunities

Put safety first and enroll in one of our upcoming CPR Classes providing Adult, Child, and Infant CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. Class capacities are fixed and registration is first come first serve. Registration will be available 3 weeks prior to each class.

Enhance your language skills and connect with others in the community by joining our weekly ESL class, offered through Laubach Literacy of San Diego County. Held every Tuesday from 5-7 pm, this class is designed to help you improve your English in a supportive and engaging environment. Whether you're looking to better navigate daily life, enhance your career prospects, or simply meet new people, our ESL class is here for you. Practical Theatre

Ages 18+

An adult theatre class taught by professionals through San Diego Community College Continuing Education. Students are given scripts, pair up, and do rehearsal homework. For beginning and intermediate level actors. For more information call 619.388.4956.
