Aquatic User Reminders

  • Monthly Pool Schedule is posted on tri-stand in gym lobby
  • Hourly Competition Pool Lap Lane Schedule is posted on tri-stand in gym lobby
  • Urgent Closures will result in a text message being sent out  
  • Therapy, Recreational, & Competition Pool Usage & Hour changes will be posted on the gym lobby doors exiting out to the pool deck 
  • Competition Pool Users please reference additional ON DECK Lane Reservation Signage to know which lanes and what times they are unavailable. 

Capacities: 

  • Competition Pool no more than 4 per lane circle swimming
  • Recreational Pool reduced capacities during noted programs
  • Therapy Pool 10-12 users; dependent on LG spacing

 

Therapy Pool Reminder:

Classes fill quickly. Consider attending our therapy pool open sessions and practicing the movements you’ve learned from instructors. Additionally, we suggest checking back on the day-of a class as space may have opened due to cancellations.

Aquatics at the Kroc 

Whether you're a competitive athlete or just like to wade, we've got something for everyone! The aquatics center offers group and private swim lessons, a masters program, lap and recreation swimming, aquatics based group exercise classes, and is home pool for the College Area Swim Team (CAST). Our aquatics department, complete with American Red Cross Certified lifeguards and trained swim lesson instructors, are dedicated to providing quality classes and training no matter what your age or ability.

Drop in to one of our Aquatics Classes!

Each day, dozens of classes are offered for all fitness types and abilities. Learn new skills and water safety, make friends, and improve your fitness. Class participants must check-in at the Kroc Center no later than 10 minutes past class start time.

PROGRAM USER POLICY: 
If a registered student is five (5) minutes or late to the class, their spot may be forfeited and given to a customer on the waitlist. 

No student may enter any class ten (10) minutes or more after the class start time.

Our Group Exercise equipment will not be available for use outside of the appropriate class; each participant must set up and return their own equipment to its appropriate place at the start and end of class.

Parent & Child Lessons

Ages: 6-36 months
Location: Therapy Pool

A swim class for infants and toddlers to introduce children to swimming with singing and games that focus on water comfort and basic skills such as water entry, bubble blowing, kicking, floating, and underwater exploration. Children must wear swim diapers/plastic pants to enter pool. At least one parent per child must be present for lesson.

Level 1 - No Prerequisites

Level 2 - Prerequisites:

  • Float on front (face in) and float on back independently for 5 seconds
  • Roll from front float to back float, and vice versa independently
  • Front glide (5ft)
  • Comfortable with assisted jump into pool

Level 3 - Prerequisites: 

  • Float on front (face in) and float on back independently for 5 seconds
  • Roll from front float to back float, and vice versa independently
  • Front glide (5ft)
  • Freestyle with side breathing (15 ft)
  • Back glide with flutter kick
  • Comfortable jumping in, swimming back to wall, and climbing out independently.

Youth Level 1 - No Prerequisites

US Masters Adult Learn to Swim 

Ages 16+ // Location: Recreation Pool

Beginning swimmers learn basic skills such as supported/unsupported floating, gliding, kicking on front/back, and freestyle. This introductory course will help you gain basic swimming skills and confidence in the water.  Instructor to student ratio 1:3. Scholarships available!

Developed for older teens and adults, our program provides swimmers at every level the opportunity to improve their skills in a safe environment and under the guidance of a trained Kroc Center instructor. .

Private Swim Lessons

All levels/ Ages 3+
All private lessons are 4 sessions.

Private Swim Lessons: 1 student: $195.00 for guests. 

Semi-Private lessons (only applicable for students who are similar ages and swimming skills) $195.00 for the first student with an additional fee of $75.00 for the second student. Please first purchase a swim lesson on krocsales.org and then reach out to the Aquatics Team at [email protected] stating the purchased private day and time to add the second child. Provide the second child’s 1. first and last name, 2. birthdate, and 3. parent contact information (email and phone) to be added to the roster as a Semi-private lesson.

Please note that The Kroc Center does not schedule private swim lessons by individual demand; the student must enroll in lessons online when classes are made available for purchase.

Enroll online

  • Please arrive no more than 15 minutes early to check-in at the gym front desk when you arrive.
  • Group lessons are 25 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for transition and parent communication unless otherwise noted.
  • Check-in at the swim lesson table when you first walk onto the pool deck.
  • Have your child go to the bathroom before lessons. Children who are not potty trained must wear a swim diaper and plastic pants (available for purchase at the Front Desk) to prevent bathroom incidents in the pool.
  • Classes will be cancelled and a refund issued if we experience lightning or mechanical issues. Make-up lessons are not available and no other refunds will be given.
  • Each Preschool/Youth class has total of only six participants; four participants currently due to COVID-19. The parent and child classes can have up to 12 participants; five participants currently due to COVID-19.
  • Please refrain from standing near the pool edge. We ask that parents remain seated/standing 10 feet back from the pool edge to avoid any distraction/disruption.

Level Prerequisites for all Group Swim Lessons

Report an Absence

Please inform us of any lessons your child will be missing and include the reason for the absence, detailing a specific reason. Any day of absences need to be communicated at least 24 hours prior to the start of the missed lesson or it will be considered a No Call/No Show."

Water Polo Drop-In Clinics
For individuals who are wanting to build swim endurance and are new to the sport.

Youth Water Polo Mini Session

This 4 day session will be expand upon the fundamentals introduced throughout our Specialized Clinics and improve fitness through pool sessions and dry land exercises. The session is open to girls and boys with previous participation in Kroc Center Polo Clinics/League/Mini-Sessions. Participants must able to swim 50 yards of freestyle with side breathing.

Private one on one coaching, integrating critical water polo skills into a 45-minute lesson that is focused on treading, body positioning awareness, and building swim endurance.

Springboard Diving program

Ages 8-14
Location: Competition Pool

The drop-in sessions are for beginner and intermediate divers (or divers to be). Participants will learn core dryland and in-water fundamental skills through specialized drills, along with specific muscle flexibility and strengthening workouts in a co-ed small group setting, While no previous diving experience is required, all participants must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle with side breathing and tread water for one minute.
