Urgent Appeal: Help Us Restock the Kroc Center Food Pantry This Summer!
We hope you’re enjoying a vibrant and fulfilling summer. As the season unfolds, we find ourselves in urgent need of your support. The Kroc Center’s Food Pantry is nearly empty, and we’re reaching out to our dedicated Members, Ice Arena loyalists, Holiday Volunteers and valued Community Partners for help. Your generosity during the holiday season has always been a beacon of hope for our community, and we are deeply grateful for your continued support.
This year, we’ve noticed a significant increase in the need for supplemental food throughout the year, not just during the holidays. Our pantry shelves are emptying faster than ever, and we need your help to ensure that we can continue to meet the growing needs of our community.
How You Can Help:
If you or your organization can donate to our Food Pantry this summer, we would be incredibly grateful! Below is a list of items we’re most in need of:
Food Items:
- Peanut Butter
- Canned Meat: Tuna, Chicken, Spam, etc.
- Starches: Instant Mashed Potatoes, Pasta, Rice, Stuffing, etc.
- Tomato Products: Pasta Sauce, Canned Tomatoes, Tomato Paste
- Breakfast Items: Instant Oatmeal, Small Boxes of Cereal, Cream of Wheat
- Canned Fruit, Jelly, Applesauce Pouches
- Canned Vegetables
- Soups, Chilis, etc.
- Protein Bars
Hygiene Items: In addition to food, we’re also committed to providing families with monthly hygiene kits. We’re in need of the following full-size items:
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Soap/Body Wash
- Deodorant
- Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Dental Floss, Mouthwash
- Razors, Shaving Cream
- Lotion
- Toilet Paper
Ways to Donate:
Deliver Items Directly: Drop off your donations at the Kroc Center Family Resource Center, located at 6845 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92115. The entrance is on 69th Street.
Amazon Registry: Use our Amazon registry to purchase items and have them shipped directly to the Kroc Center.
Financial Contribution: Consider making a financial contribution to the Kroc Center, and we will use the funds to purchase needed food items at a discounted rate from the San Diego Food Bank. Please contact us for more details.
