Seeking Passionate Leaders: Join the Kroc Center’s Finance Committee!

Are you ready to make a real impact in your community while sharing your professional expertise? The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Center in San Diego is seeking two dynamic volunteers to join our Finance Committee starting December 2024. This is an incredible opportunity to be part of a team shaping the future of a unique community hub that serves thousands of San Diego residents—youth, families, and seniors—through athletics, the arts, education, and personal development.

What Makes This Opportunity Special?

The Kroc Center’s Finance Committee isn’t just about crunching numbers—it’s about working hand-in-hand with passionate, driven people who are committed to making San Diego stronger. You'll join a diverse group of local leaders from fields like marketing, law, finance, and education, all united by a shared passion for the Kroc Center’s mission. Together, you’ll help guide one of San Diego’s most comprehensive community centers—an extraordinary place that sits on 12.4 acres, with a budget of over $14 million annually!

Your voice matters in ensuring our programs are sustainable, our resources are used wisely, and our mission of service reaches even further.

What to Expect:

Quarterly In-Person Meetings: Meet with your fellow committee members and leadership staff every three months to discuss strategic financial matters.

Collaborate and Influence: Work closely with the Executive Director and Center Director to provide high-level guidance on the financial future of the Kroc Center.

Hands-on Impact: Get involved with budgeting and fiscal oversight, shaping decisions that directly affect how we serve low-income neighborhoods.

Why Should You Join?

This is more than just a committee—it's a chance to help shape the future of the Kroc Center. You’ll play a key role in supporting programs that uplift our community’s most vulnerable, ensuring we can continue to offer transformative experiences in sports, arts, education, and wellness. As a Finance Committee member, you’ll provide crucial guidance that keeps us on solid financial ground while working toward an even greater impact.

Who We’re Looking For:

If you have experience in business, law, finance, education, non-profits, communications, or wellness—and share our passion for giving back to the community—then we want to hear from you! Prior board or committee experience is a plus, but not required. What matters most is your commitment to our mission and your willingness to provide thoughtful, strategic input.

Join Us in Making a Difference!

If you’re ready to give back in a powerful way, we’d love to talk to you. The initial commitment is one year, with the option to renew annually. Interested? Contact Center Director Clarissa Glasco at [email protected] for more details!

Be a part of something bigger. Help us build a stronger future for San Diego!
