Our performing and visual arts programs are designed to inspire and engage the community, offering a variety of classes to suit every interest. From ballet to hip hop, our dance classes provide a platform for self-expression and growth. Explore your artistic side with our arts & crafts classes, delve into the world of sculpture, and much more. Performing Arts for All Ages

Whether you are looking for beginning classes or a continuation into more advanced instruction, the Kroc Center Performing Arts Program is the right solution for you. Our instructors are professional dancers, illustrators and musicians with years of experience teaching and performing. Kroc Performing Arts program participate in various recitals throughout the year.

Dance Classes

Adult Ballet/Tap
Ages 14+

Suitable for beginning and intermediate level dancers.

Ballet I, II, III, IV, V, Pre-Pointe
Ages 3+

Ballet shoes, tights and leotards are required for Ballet II and above. Prerequisite classes and instructor approval required for all level II, III, and IV classes.

Cheerleading I
Ages 5-14
Cheerleading is a sport that involves a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork. Cheerleaders perform routines that include stunts, jumps, tumbling, and dancing. It requires a combination of strength, flexibility, coordination, and timing. It involves a lot of energy and enthusiasm as cheerleaders perform routines filled with stunts, jumps, tumbling, and dance moves. Overall, cheerleading is not just about cheering; it's about passion, skill, and the thrill of performing in front of an audience..

Gymnastics I, II
Ages 3-14
Learn basic tumbling skills on the ground and balance beam while improving strength and flexibility. Skills will include backbends, handstands and cartwheels.

Intermediate Adult Ballet/Modern
Ages 14+

Contemporary theatrical and concert dance developing the use of the entire body in movements expressive of abstract ideas. Suitable for beginning and intermediate level dancers.

Intro to Dance
Ages 5-14
Learn the foundations of dance while exploring music, movement, and self expression! Learn basic dance techniques through line dancing, ballroom dance, waltz and tango while practicing how to follow rhythm through movement.

Parent & Me Tumbling
Ages 1-5
Parent and Me style classes for little Tumblers and Musicians.  Parents and tumblers, please dress comfortably and be prepared to move and dance in this high energy class!

Tap
Ages 4-8
Learn all the basics of tap! Dancers will learn a variety of steps that focus on timing, musicality, and rhythm. Most tap classes follow a similar structure including a warm-up, across the floor progressions, and a center combination. Please dress comfortably and bring tap shoes with you to class.

 

Visual Arts

Artsy Crafts
Ages7-12

A lively arts and crafts class exploring a variety of mediums each week such as embossing, painting, drawing skills and mixed media art. Classes take place in Art Studio 155.

Create New Beginnings
Ages 18+

Create New Beginnings is a 10-week Visual Arts program which meets once a week with each week’s class including the following: - Thematic discussion topics and reflection on a different topic each week including: Vulnerability, Forgiveness, Reconciliation, Emotions, Empathy, Shame, Accountability, Pride, Self-Doubt, and Courage - Presentation of flowers - a lesson on the meaning of specific flowers chosen based on the theme of the week’s lesson - Art lesson techniques and skills including color mixing, color meaning, watercolor technique, acrylic paint techniques, design variations, and mixed media technique, with curriculum guides focusing on the week’s theme - Spiritual component noting Bible verses that relate to the themed lessons with guided prayer in the curriculum also related to the theme. - Each class concludes with sharing of projects, reflections on insights gained (artistic, spiritual, and personal) to foster further discussion and friendship.

Sculpture
Ages 7-12

Learn all the basics of sculpting clay using slab, pinch, and coil techniques. All materials are provided, though students may want to bring a smock or apron to protect clothing from clay splatters. Classes take place in Art Studio 155.
