Aquatics at the Kroc 

Whether you’re a competitive athlete or just like to wade, we’ve got something for everyone! Kroc Center Aquatics offers lap and recreational swimming, group and private swim lessons for all ages, aquatics based group exercise classes, youth and adult water polo, and an adult swim team.  The department is complete with American Red Cross Certified Lifeguards and trained swim lesson instructors, who are dedicated to safety, and providing quality classes no matter age and/or ability.

Drop in to one of our Aquatics Classes!

Each day, dozens of classes are offered for all fitness types and abilities. Learn new skills and water safety, make friends, and improve your fitness. Class participants must check-in at the Kroc Center no later than 10 minutes past class start time. Reserve your class time 50 hours in advance.

Become a Kroc Center Lifeguard

Lifeguards monitor activities, observe and provide assistance to swimmers, prevent accidents, provide first aid when necessary, protect life and enforce regulations, as well as control access to pools. The American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is the only certification allowed for employment. 

The first step is to get certified with our American Red Cross Lifeguarding Class. Utilizing a blend of online coursework and classroom learning, this class provides entry level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illness until EMS personnel take over. Participation in all classes is required. Upon successful course completion students will then be certified in: Lifeguarding, CPR PRO, AED, First Aid, Oxygen, and Blood Borne Pathogens 

Lifeguard applicants must be able to demonstrate these abilities:

  • American Red Cross Certified
  • Swim 500 yards using freestyle/breaststroke
  • Retrieve 10 lb. object from bottom of pool and swim 20 yards
  • Exit water without use of ladder
  • Tread water for 2 minutes without using arms
