How are you going to space out your Fitness Center?

We will be moving the lighter fitness equipment pieces to alternative locations such as the Gymnasium, lounge area and Pool Deck and removing some pieces. We have a brand-new large screen in the Gymnasium that we are working on configuring for virtual instruction. The remaining equipment will be spaced out appropriately and some equipment will be “quarantined” to meet the new social distancing requirements of 6’ or 36 sf per person.

Will the locker rooms and restrooms be available?

Industry professionals are HIGHLY recommending locker rooms not be initially opened. We are following this recommendation to not initially open our lockers, showers, or cell phone lockers. We will re-visit this as we progress. We encourage you to bring a “waist pack” for your smaller items that you do not want to leave in your car. We will have ample access to restrooms and sinks.

Do I have to wear a mask at the Kroc?

For the comfort and safety of other patrons, and in accordance with California & San Diego County Mandate, we will continue to request that both staff and patrons wear masks.  Exceptions would be during high exertion cardio exercise, assuming you can maintain a 6' distance, and while lap swimming.

Is there new Gym Etiquette I should be aware of?

We encourage members to show true Kroc Center spirit by being patient and respectful of other users - choose a piece that's not directly next to another user, keep your use of each piece to a minimum and keep walkways clear as possible.

How will the equipment be disinfected?

Equipment will be disinfected frequently. For cleaning between users during sessions each piece of equipment will have a notification card with “Clean Me” and “Ready to Use” on alternative sides. This will notify staff and patrons that the piece needs to be disinfected. We will also have the highly recommended GymWipes for your personal use.

How and Where will Group-X Classes be held?

The schedule will be available online and for viewing at Gym Guest Services. To allow for social distancing and highest usage Group-X classes, classes normally held in the Group-X Room and Cycle Room will be moved to the Gymnasium and even Pool Deck, or Field. Available classes may include yoga, Bodypump, Aqua Burn, Deep Water Workout and Wall Core & More.

How will Cycle Classes work?

For social distancing we are transitioning the Cycle Studio to the Gymnasium Court.  There are options for solo usage and virtual classes  Bring your phone & headphones to watch an online class!
